HOUSE EXPLOSION 12.9.05

 

         

          At 5:05am Horseheads units responded to a reported house explosion on Fox street.  The first arriving units found nothing but debris where the house once stood, however, they immediately began treating patients that moments before had been sound asleep in the house, two of which were pulled from the burning debris by Horseheads Police officers McGrain and Zelko who arrived second before the first fire department personnel.  There was sever damage to buildings in the area and the explosion could be felt and heard as far away as the city of Elmira.  There were life threatening injuries reported as a result of the incident however, to this date every member of the family living in the house at the time of the explosion has made a full recovery.
