Horseheads units, assisted by units from T&C Elmira Heights Fire Departments responded to K-Mart in Grand Central Plaza around 10am to a report of fire in the roof of the building. Once on scene firefighters found the building full of smoke and a small fire smoldering in the roof of the building caused by a faulty ballast unit in one of the ceiling lights. Firefighters put out the fire and conducted overhaul on the affected area resulting in minimal damage to the building and no injuries being reported as a result of the incident. | |
