At approximately 12:40 pm on Monday, January 7th 2008 a "car vs. tractor trailer" accident occurred on Interstate 86 Eastbound just West of the State Route 14 overpass.  The car was traveling in the driving lane and suddenly veered across the passing lane in a last minute attempt to turn into the authorized vehicle turn around.  In doing so, the car cut off the tractor trailer traveling immediately behind it in the passing lane.  The tractor trailer impacted the car, crushing the rear end and pushing he car off into the median and causing the tractor trailer to jack knife in the roadway.  1002 was the first on scene within 3 minutes, and rescues 1034 and 1081 arriving shortly after.  The Hurst tool was used to extricate the patients from the car.  There were several injuries as a result of the crash.
